About I ❤️ Pinays

I Heart Pinays is a Filipina-founded streetwear brand by Swiper that celebrates Pinays, culture, and identity—serving the girlies, gays, and theys first. Unapologetically bold and a little playful, the brand offers femme-forward, gender-inclusive styles that go beyond the basic unisex tee, creating statement pieces that can be dressed up or down with any outfit.

Centering femme, queer, and diasporic identities, I Heart Pinays proudly gives us a space in streetwear. This isn’t just fashion—it’s reclamation, reminding us all that being seen is powerful.

The Statement I ❤️PINAYS Cropped Raglan Tee

I ❤️ PINAYS with a subtle “Y,” whether you ❤️ PINAYS, PINAS, or both... ;)

At the core of the brand is our signature I ❤️ PINAYS shirt. This reimagined graphic plays with language, identity, and symbolism. The “Y” in PINAYS is intentionally faded—allowing the word to morph into PINAS (a colloquial name for the Philippines), or something sounding more bastos depending on how you want to interpret it! Hehe.

“Object Overview:

The I ❤️ PINAYS shirt, designed by Mikayla “Swiper” Delson in 2024, takes a widely recognizable American graphic—the I ❤️ NY format—and flips it with layered intent. At first glance, the shirt reads as a celebration of Filipina identity. But the design does more than assert affection, it experiments with typography to open up multiple readings. As the “Y” fades, PINAYS becomes PINAS (a colloquial name for the Philippines), or, something more risqué. The visual pun invites the wearer and viewer to decide how they see it—playful, political, or both.

What began as a personal design idea became a reflection of a broader question: who gets to be centered in streetwear, and what does it mean to create for oneself and one’s community rather than for a market?”
